Online Gymnastics Classes for Kids Ages 5-7

At 5 to 7 years old, your child's body is ready to move in new ways. This is the perfect age to build a foundation of strength, balance, and body awareness—skills that'll stick with them for life. Our gymnastics classes are specifically designed for this developmental stage, with certified coaches who know exactly how to challenge young learners while keeping everything fun and safe. In just 25-40 minutes per session, kids develop real physical confidence they can feel in their everyday lives, whether they're climbing on the playground or riding a bike.

We keep our groups intentionally small—just 3 to 6 students per class—so your child gets personalized attention and plenty of time on the equipment. This isn't about becoming an elite athlete; it's about your kid discovering what their body can do. They'll work on flexibility, coordination, and basic floor skills in a supportive environment where mistakes are part of learning, not something to fear. Every child progresses at their own pace, and our coaches celebrate those wins, big and small.

Classes start at just $14 per session, making it genuinely affordable to give your child this experience. You don't need special equipment at home—we work with what you have and guide you through safe, space-friendly movements. Ready to see your kid light up when they nail a new skill? What Ages 5–7 Learn in Gymnastics

Body Awareness & Coordination

Kids learn to control their bodies in space through basic tumbling sequences, rolls, and simple balance work. This age group thrives on understanding how their limbs move together, building the mind-body connection essential for all physical activities.

Foundational Flexibility

Through gentle stretching routines and dynamic movements, 5–7 year-olds improve their natural flexibility before it naturally decreases. These habits set them up for injury prevention and better posture as they grow.

Beginner Strength & Core Stability

Simple exercises like hollow holds, bear crawls, and wall-assisted handstands build the upper body and core strength needed for future gymnastic skills. This age group is ready for strength work that feels like play.

Confidence Through Progression

Mastering skills from forward rolls to basic balance beam walks helps 5–7 year-olds develop fearlessness in a safe, structured environment. Each small win builds self-esteem and encourages them to try new physical challenges.

Why Ages 5–7 Is a Great Time for Gymnastics

Ages 5–7 are in a critical window for developing fundamental movement patterns and body awareness. At this age, children are naturally curious about what their bodies can do, making gymnastics an ideal outlet for that energy. They're also developing better focus and can follow multi-step instructions, allowing them to understand and execute basic gymnastics techniques. Their bones are still flexible and growing, making this the perfect time to build foundational flexibility and mobility that will serve them throughout their athletic lives.

This age group benefits tremendously from the structured, non-competitive nature of early gymnastics instruction. Kids ages 5–7 learn best through play-based activities and immediate positive feedback, which our small group format provides perfectly. They're developing social skills and learning to take turns, so classes with 3–6 students allow them to observe and learn from peers while still receiving individual encouragement. Unlike older children who may pursue gymnastics competitively, this age group simply needs safe exploration, skill-building, and the joy of movement—all of which build the foundation for lifelong fitness confidence.

"Finally, classes that don't feel like school. My kids actually BEG to log in."

Gymnastics for Ages 5–7 FAQ

Does my child need prior gymnastics experience to join?
No experience necessary! These classes are designed for beginners ages 5–7 with no prior gymnastics background. Our instructors teach from the absolute basics and progress at a pace that matches your child's development and comfort level.
What should my child wear to online gymnastics class?
Kids should wear comfortable, stretchy clothing (like leggings or shorts and a t-shirt) that allows full movement. Bare feet are best for safety and grip, and hair should be tied back if it's long. Make sure they have a clear, padded space at home (yoga mat, carpet, or folded blanket).
How much space do we need at home for online classes?
You'll need roughly a 6x6 foot clear area with soft flooring like a yoga mat, carpet, or gymnastics mat to cushion rolls and landings. The instructor will modify exercises based on your available space, so even smaller areas can work with simplified movements.
Will my child learn actual gymnastics skills or just stretching?
Your child will learn real gymnastics fundamentals including rolls, basic balance work, simple inversions (with support), and strength-building exercises—all age-appropriate and progressive. Stretching and flexibility are components, but the focus is on skill-building, coordination, and body control that mirrors in-person gymnastics classes.
